Ken Kelly guest edits Journal of Atlantic Studies Global Current Special Issue Connecting Continents: South Carolina and the Guinea Coast. (Atlantic Studies 12(3): 317-335)

Connecting Continents South Carolina and the Guinea Coast special issue of Atlantic Studies has just come out. The collected articles derive from a small workshop funded by the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies that was held on campus in 2013. It includes aritcles by Department Ken Kelly and Elhadj Fall, Employing archaeology to (dis)entangle the nineteenth-century illegal slave trade on the Rio Pongo, Guinea, and graduate student Andrew Agha Standing the test of time: embankment investigations, their implications for African technology transfer and effect on African American archaeology in South Carolina.
