I live on a farm in Cocke County, my grandfather Jesse Palmer was among the first to come to this place and start a settlement, my father, George Palmer, found it safe in the wilderness, so he decided to build a house and clear some land, then he married and raised a large family, he was a great bear hunter and turkey hunter, he was reared on Cataloochee and lived here all of his life, he used to own a lot of land here, then the government bought it for a park, so it is now in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
