New Visual and Performing Arts Community

The School of Visual Art and Design, the Department of Theater and Dance, and the Film & Media Studies Program are working closely with University Housing to launch a new Visual and Performing Arts Living and Learning Community for Fall 2017.  Located in Patterson Hall, which was recently voted the #1 On Campus Housing by Best of Carolina, the VPA community is a co-ed, suite style residence hall that offers students the opportunity to live with other artists and art enthusiasts, attend local arts events, enjoy behind-the-scenes access with visiting artists, and participate in a range of beyond the classroom art experiences.  The VPA community will be home to approximately 40 Freshmen in the 2017-2018 academic year, and we anticipate that there will be opportunities for some continuing students to remain in the community as upperclassmen in subsequent years.
