Rebecca Boyd Makes Finals in Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition

USC Media Arts alum and adjunct instructor Rebecca Boyd was recently a finalist in the 2015 Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.  Her script, In Spite of it All, is loosely based on the love story of her great great grandparents, who were Irish potato famine immigrants who met in an American Civil War hospital.

In 2014, In Spite of It All also made the Top 10% in the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship Competition.  It was described by a Nicholl reader as "absolutely charming and enchanting" with "a little action, a lot of humor, some history and a great romance. What more could an audience want?"

Rebecca is a 2010 graduate of USC's Masters program in Media Arts and has taught at USC since 2012.
