CALL FOR ENTRIES

THE 58th ANNUAL STUDENT COMPETITION       McMaster Gallery

Eligibility

All students ENROLLED in the USC Art Department are eligible. All work must have been completed during the student’s time of enrollment at USC. All entries must be of original design and personal execution. Artists working in traditional mediums as well as experimental media are encouraged to submit entries for judging. Works that hang must be appropriately matted and acetated or framed with hanging devices (screw eyes and wire installed – Please do not tape wire to the back of the work as it will not hold on the wall). In order to be displayed, all works must be received ready to install and with installation instructions when necessary. Film or Sound works should be submitted on either DVD, or CD making sure that it will play on a DVD player. No works that require maintenance, are biodegradable, include loose soil/grit, are wider than 6’ or exceed 75 pounds will be accepted. TimeWorks will be shown on a monitor and not projected. The gallery will handle all items for exhibition with extreme care during the loan period but cannot be responsible for works that are inordinately fragile or inherently subject to damage. Submission of any entry constitutes an agreement with all conditions set forth in the prospectus. Entrants may submit a maximum of two works.  Entry forms will be available in the main office.

Entrants may submit a maximum of two works.  All three labels must be attached individually to the back right  of the work.

Awards

The Student Competition will present awards to selected artists who have achieved Juror’s Choice recognition.  Awards will be announced during the exhibition’s Awards Reception Tuesday, March 4th

Exhibition

The exhibit will continue through March 26th. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Calender

All entries must be delivered no later than 4:00 pm February  20th.  Notice of acceptance will be posted February 24 at 5pm
