Dr. Koons-Witt is presently involved in research examining incarcerated mothers and criminal desistance, female co-offending, and corrections programming for women offenders. She is also involved in a project looking at the attitudes and practices of South Carolina businesses in hiring people with criminal records. Dr. Koons-Witt is currently teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses on Women and Crime, Corrections, and Research Methods. She currently serves on the editorial boards of Feminist Criminology and Women and Criminal Justice.
