Center for Science Education

About Us

The primary mission of the Center for Science Education is to provide courses and professional development to current and future K-12 science teachers to enhance the quality of science instruction in South Carolina. Current programs serve more than 100 teachers per year, and we are in the process of expanding our course offerings.

Other Center activities:

The South Carolina Region II Science and Engineering Fair

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposium

The Middle & Elementary School Academy of Science Contest

SCiencelab, where secondary school science teachers bring their classes to the university for a day of hands on science.

Together these programs impact several thousand K-12 students each year.
