Mission StatementThe primary mission of the Center for Science Education is to provide course and professional development to current and future K-12 science teachers to enhance the quality of science instruction in South Carolina. Current programs serve more than 100 teachers per year, and we are in the process of expanding our course offerings.
In addition, the Center hosts the South Carolina Region II Science and Engineering Fair, the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, the Middle & Elementary School Academy of Science Contest and SCiencelab where secondary school science teachers bring their classes to the university for a day of hands on science. Together these programs impact several thousand K-12 students each year. Contributions to help us continue to offer these programs are welcome.
