Congratulations to Lara Lomicka

Lara Lomicka Anderson has been elected Vice President of CALICO (Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium), starting May 2016. This is a three-year cycle meaning that she will be President of CALICO next year and then Past President the year after that.

This is the leading organization in Lara’s field and at the forefront of developments in language pedagogy. So now, in our department, we are at the hub not only of the American Comparative Literature Association, but now also of CALICO. This in turn realizes the basic intent of our new vision statement, in which we “aspire to be recognized locally, nationally, and internationally as a model for the effective synergy of literary, linguistic and cultural studies.”
