Department of LLC Scholarships
Each Spring, the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures awards students for their scholarship through a series of general departmental-wide awards.
Deadline: Fri, March 17, 2017
Students of French are eligible to apply for the following awards, provided that they meet the necessary criteria:
Dr. Francis W. Bradley Award in Romance Languages
- awarded annually to a rising Junior in Arts and Sciences based on scholarship and need
Albert Ross Garner Award for Future Teachers of French
- awarded annually to an outstanding graduate student who intends to pursue a career in the teaching of French at the secondary or elementary level. First priority will be given to graduate students for this award. If no such graduate student is identified, it may then be presented to a qualified undergraduate student
Kyrl Leighton-Faxford de Gravelines Scholarship
- awarded annually on the basis of merit to worthy undergraduates majoring in a foreign language who meet the University’s scholarship requirements
How to Apply
Candidates must submit an application, a transcript (official or unofficial), a statement of purpose tailored to the award (minimum one page), and two recommendations (preferably from French professors). Materials and information on how to apply are available here.
