Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures
University of South Carolina
A native of Lipetsk, Russia, I first came to the United States on a Fulbright program in 2009-2010 (at the University of Montana). In 2011 I moved to Canada from Moscow where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures and Translation in 2013.
Teaching is my passion. I have taught at different post-secondary institutions across North America: University of Montana, University of Calgary, University of Alberta. For several summers now I have also been teaching in the Intensive Language Summer School at Middlebury College, Vermont.
My research interests include the psychological novel of the 19th century as well as the questions of nostalgia and self-identification in Russian émigré writers of the 20th century, especially Sergey Dovlatov.
When not teaching or researching, I love being outside hiking, cycling, and jogging; I love dancing, yoga, reading, and long conversations over coffee and chocolate.
