Open Book - Arthur Phillips VisitWednesday, April 26, 2017 -
Arthur Phillips' novel *The Tragedy of Arthur* challenges our notions of truth, fiction, genius, and identity. It focuses on a young man whose con-artist father bequeaths to him a manuscript that he claims is a previously unknown play by Shakespeare. The play is called *The Tragedy of Arthur*. The fates of the novel's two Arthurs--the novelist/protagonist and the ancient king in the recovered play--become in the course of the novel eerie and uncanny mirrors of each other.
Campus Room, in the Capstone Building on Barnwell Drive.
