Ashley is a graduate student in English with an emphasis in American Literature. Her research interests include medieval literature and language (particularly of the Iberian peninsula) and gender and religious studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Modern Languages from Olivet Nazarene University, where she served as a teaching assistant and president of her Sigma Tau Delta chapter. She also spent a semester abroad at the University of Oxford and served three years as a teacher in South Korea, where she presented on Teaching Excellence for the Cheonan Office of Education. Her paper, "Still Waters: Silence in Shakespeare's Tragedies," was presented at the First Annual LLC Graduate Student Conference, and she presented her work on Christine de Pizan at the 2016 SEMA Conference in Knoxville, Tenn.
