Heather is a second-year direct admission PhD student in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition. Her research interests include classical rhetoric, the rhetoric of humor, and theories on desire and the body. While still defining her focus, Heather is particularly interested in the body and desire in classical rhetorical theory and methods of historiography in rhetoric and composition in addition to the role of humor in classical and contemporary rhetoric. She will serve as an officer in both the Rhetoric Society of America and the Graduate English Association for the 2017-2018 academic year.
