Joy Priest is a Master of Fine Arts candidate in Poetry. She holds a BA in Print Journalism from the University of Kentucky, and her research interests include Kentucky and the South, history, archiving, contemporary literature and visual art. Joy is the winner of the 2016 Hurston/Wright Foundation's College Writers Award, and has received grants, scholarships, and fellowships from the Kentucky Arts Council, the Fine Arts Work Center at Provincetown, and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. Joy's poems and prose have appeared or are upcoming in espnW, Callaloo, Blackbird, Drunken Boat, Muzzle, pluck!, Best New Poets 2014, and The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop.
