Lesley Smith is a doctoral student in linguistics, specializing in second and foreign language acquisition. She holds an M.A. in TESOL from the University of Leicester (U.K.) and a B.A. in English from USC. She previously worked as an English language instructor at the University of Notre Dame and for Richland County. She has published on social anxiety and oral discourse of adult English language learners. Her current research interests include discourse analysis and group dynamics in second and foreign language contexts.
