Trevor C. Meyer is an ABD doctoral candidate in Rhetoric and Composition. His research interests include ancient and global rhetorics, rhetorical theory and history, and composition pedagogy, as well as the intersections between continental philosophy, political theory, and rhetoric. His dissertation explores martial arts training to approach foundational problems in contemporary writing education, focusing on the ancient Greek mixed martial art "pankration" (“all powers”) as a model for teaching, theorizing, and practicing argument. He has presented at conferences including College Composition & Communication, Rhetoric Society of America, and International Society for the History of Rhetoric, and he has published reviews for Enculturation and Rhetoric & Public Affairs.
