Like the fields of film and media more generally, the Film and Media Studies Program is led by an interdisciplinary approach to the study of media. Its faculty represent a range of departments and schools across the university including Anthropology, Art, English, History, Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Theater and Dance.
Our Core Faculty teach regularly within the program and actively administer its curriculum and initiatives. Each core faculty member’s primary research is directly engaged with one or more aspects of the discipline of film and media studies.
Our Affiliate Faculty also offer courses in the program and conduct research on an aspect of film and media within their discipline.
Courses taught by both core and affiliate faculty are often listed and cross-listed through their home departments. For up to date information on film and media courses at USC cross listed through other departments, see Courses.
