Graduate student awards!

Geography graduate students have won a number of prestigious awards in recent weeks.

The end of the spring semester is typically notable for the tremeondous number of awards geography students win each year. This year is no exception, with current and incoming students winning a number of awards. Current students awardees include:

  • Dan Abrahams winning the Ceny Walker Graduate Fellowship through USC's Walker Institute to fund his dissertation research in Nigeria
  • Beth Nelson winning the Walker Institute's International Experience Award to fund preliminary dissertation fieldwork on North African immigrant communities in France
  • Chris Kaase winning the Graduate School Trustee Fellowship that recognizes general excellence in scholarship
  • Mayra Roman-Rivera winning best presentation at Graduate Student Research Day at USC

The excellence of incoming students has been recognized by:

  • Sean Bath winning a Presidential Fellowship to help fund his Ph.D studies
  • Angela Seidler winning a Rhude Patterson Graduate Recruiting Fellowship to help fund her Masters studies
