Kevin Remington to participate in workshop on GIS and the spatial humanities
Campus GIS Coordinator Kevin Remington will team up with the Center for Digital Humanities to offer a workshop on using GIS.
The humanities have recently taken a digital turn that has seen the incorporation of a range spatial analysis. Some of this work will be on display Friday, February 19 when Eric Gidal of the University of Iowa will discuss his reinterpretation of USC's holdings in Scottish literature and cultural through GIS. A workshop on GIS and the spatial humanities will be held earlier in the day that involves Kevin Remington, the campus GIS coordinator. This hands on workshop will focus on the basics of geospatial visualization and analytics using the ESRI ArcGIS platform. More info on the workshop and Gidal's presentation can be found below.
