Magellan scholar Jory Fleming featured by Office of Undergraduate Research
The Geography and Marine Science double major has been working on several projects with Dr. Jean Ellis and other geography faculty.
Jory Fleming is a USC Magellan Apprentice and winner of a Magellan Mini-Grant, a program at USC to help fund undergraduate research. As an undergraduate research apprentice, Fleming is working with Dr. Jean Ellis of the Department of Geography to study to use of Geographic Information Systems in Marine Environments. With his mini-grant, Jory helped to bring the National Geographic Giant Traveling Map to Columbia. In the article he offers some great advice for anyone undertaking a research project, and especially for undergraduates at USC interested in getting involved with faculty research.
