More graduate student awards

Graduate students Alex McCombs, Kristy Carter, Adam Ereth and Janae Davis awarded for their excellence in teaching and service, while Alysha Baratta was awarded the Southern Studies Fellowship.

Each year the Department of Geography at the University of South Carolina recognizes the work that graduate students put into their teaching and service to the community. This year, Alex McCombs and Kristy Carter were recognized for their work as lab instructors, while Adam Ereth was recognized for his teaching of GEOG 103 Introduction to Geography.

In addition, the graduate student association has selected Janae Davis as the recipient of the graduate student service award, which recognizes Janae's service to the community.

Finally, masters student Alysha Baratta was awarded the 2015 David G. Ellison Fellowship, awarded annually by the University of South Carolina Institute for Southern Studies. The fellowship will help to fund Alysha's research on refugee service provision in Columbia, SC.
