Professor Michael E. Hodgson delivers keynote speech in Hungary
Professor Hodgson's visit also includes lectures on GIS to graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics at the University of Pecs, as well as participation in a variety of GIS outreach activities.
During the Thanksgiving holidays in the United States Geography Professor Michael E. Hodgson participated in a variety of international GIScience activities in Hungary.Professor Hodgson was the invited Keynote Speaker at the GIS Day Conference at the University of Pecs, Hungary, a major Hungarian university with an enrollment around 20,000 students.While in Hungary he also gave lectures to GIS classes in the Department of Cartography/Geoinformatics and Institute of Geography and lectured on careers in GIScience to undergraduate and graduate students in related academic programs. Professor Hodgson also participated in GIScience outreach activities at the Hungarian Transdanubian Water Management Directorate and Duna-Drava National Park with in-field investigations of the ecosystems and flood-risks on the Danube River.
