ISME Objectives:

  • Bring together the knowledge and experience of global communities to contribute to peace and prosperity through better understanding the cause and effect of global conflict;
  • Improve the quality and increase the volume of student and faculty mobility around the world;
  • Increase the quality and volume of multilateral cooperation between higher education institutions in the area of global sustainable development;
  • Create and encourage interdisciplinary teamwork and build student competency in environmental, social and economic problem solving;
  • Enhance student learning of global sustainable development through applying real world concepts in a multidiscipline and multicultural setting, and
  • Emphasize importance of a student's responsibility to understand systems thinking and cultural diversity as it applies to problem solving and conflict resolution.

Participants in the ISME will be involved in the activities of organizational and community assessment, analysis and innovation, creating in-dept case studies, through ISME networking.  The ISME network will increase the ability of students, faculty, and its other stakeholders to use their international skills in sustainable development initiatives. The ISME will be linked through student and faculty exchanges, the Internet, an intranet protocol for video conferencing, case study presentations, and other information technology based tools, which will enrich international education toward a sustainable development.
