Dovid Katz is one of the preeminent scholars of Yiddish in the world. A former Guggenheim fellow and Visiting Professor at Yale University, Katz founded and directed Yiddish Studies at Oxford University and the Vilnius Yiddish Institute at Vilnius University, Lithuania. He has won both the Manger Prize and the Zhitlovsky Prize in Yiddish Literature.
