Izzy Ezagui: Israel’s One Armed Warrior

Thursday, April 7, 2016 - 8:00pm

Location: Petigru College at the University of South Carolina, Room #108

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Miami, Izzy made Aliyah in order to fulfill his dream of serving in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces).

Aſter losing his leſt and dominant arm to a mortar shell while serving in Operation Cast Lead at the Gaza border, Izzy was determined to rejoin his brothers-in-arms and to continue to serve in the IDF. Overcoming tremendous odds, Izzy became the first one-armed soldier in Israel’s history to re-qualify for active duty.

In 2011, Israeli President Shimon Peres, awarded him the highest accolade a soldier outside the battlefield can receive.

We invite you to join us on April 7th as Izzy shares the story of his unique journey.

Access the link below for a flyer with the details for this event.

Light refreshments will be served.
