Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Student Affairs and Advising
The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Student Affairs and Advising in the College of Arts and Sciences is a member of the College Senior Staff and represents the College in all matters related to undergraduate services including, but not limited to roles in recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, petitions, suspension and graduation, as well as special student services required due to extenuating circumstances. The description and responsibilities of the office are shaped by Student Services, Student Information and Scheduling, service on a wide-range of University and College Committees, and maintaining a broad range of relationships with offices and individuals involved in all aspects of undergraduate student life.
Dr. Knapp earned his Doctorate from the University of Chicago in developmental biology. The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Student Affairs and Advising is an ex officio member of the Academic Planning Committee (APC) for the College of Arts and Sciences.
