The Native American Film festival of the Southeast

Sunday, November 5, 2017 - 12:30pm to Tuesday, November 14, 2017 - 8:00pm

A regionally significant festival, for this genre, this festival is the longest ongoing festival of it’s kind in the southeast, with similar festivals in San Francisco (American India Film Institute) and Los Angeles (Red Nation Film festival).

November 5-14, 2017 the Eastern Cherokee, Southern Iroquois & United Tribes of South Carolina will once again bring images, stories, documentaries and dramatic feature films in celebration of National Native American Indian Heritage Month in South Carolina. It is "Native Storytellers," with a contemporary medium of cinema, and their stories are true. Whether they are documentary, legends, Native American Myths, contemporary issue related films or dramatic films they open the viewer to true Native American Indian or indigenous perspectives.  For the last twenty years the film festival has informed the imagination of filmmakers, Native Americans, non- native audience members and communication students.
