
SCAND Researchers Received Stimulus Research Grant
Stimulus Research Program (SRP) by SC EPSCoR/IDeA was developed to strengthen SC’s research capacity and research competitiveness. Each proposal was submitted by a collaborative team consisting of at least two of the three comprehensive research universities and two predominately undergraduate institutions. SCAND members, lead by Dr. Jeff Twiss, were awarded $150k/yr x 2 yrs to study the intersection of epigenetic regulation and mitochrondrial function in autism. This is a great achievement for SCAND which will strengthen collaboration among its members, in keeping with the SCAND mission of understanding and treating neurodevelopmental and autism spectrum disorders through a state-wide, multi-disciplinary research consortium.
