2012 Student Awards & Recognition

Matt Cazessus is the recipient of the Graduate Student Teaching Award, based primarily on his (excellent) work in developing and teaching two different courses: Urban Sociology and Social Problems.

The Co-authored Publication Award goes to Nick Berigan for his paper (coauthored with Kyle Irwin who, incidentally, is a former recipient of this award) “Culture, Cooperation, and the General Welfare,” published in Social Psychology Quarterly.

Honorable Mention goes to: Jennifer McLeer and Jake Frederick for their paper (co-authored with Barry Markovsky and Chris Barnum) “Standardizing Open Interaction Coding for Status Processes,” published in Advances in Group Processes.

The Sole-authored Graduate Student Publication Award goes to Jenny Triplett for her paper “Racial Bias and Prosocial Behavior” published in Sociology Compass.
