I am a 3rd year graduate student currently working with Shane Thye and Dave Melamed. My thesis further explicates relational cohesion theory by predicting how bonds formed to the group will vary by status. As an undergraduate, I worked as a research assistant for Michael Lovaglia at the Group Processes Lab at the University of Iowa. For the past 2 years, I have been involved with running group interaction experiments for Shane Thye that test relational cohesion theory. This research is supported by the National Science Foundation (with a portion of the data being collected at Cornell University by Ed Lawler). More specifically, this research looks at the emotional bonds formed between members of task- oriented groups. This year, I am working with Dave Melamed on a project that shows how status-based social influence is moderated by the distribution of opinions in the group. In my free time, I like to watch football, read fantasy novels, play soccer, go to the gym and relax.
