Adrianne Dues

Adrianne graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Sociology, Legal Foundations and her MA from DePaul University. Adrianne's specific interest is the role of social support in the institutes of families, schools, prisons and how that influences the mental health of various marginalized populations across race, class, gender, and nationality, with specific interest in African Americans, Latinos, and immigrant groups. Adrianne is also drawn to the intersection of visual sociology and social justice. In collaboration with Tamms Year Ten, Parsons The New School of Design, The Midwest Coalition of Human Rights, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and other artists; Adrianne has been part of a social justice photography exhibit featured in The Huffington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Reader, The Brooklyn Quarterly, etc. The exhibit has been showcased at Chicago’s Sullivan Galleries in 2012 and at New York City’s Photoville in 2013. The exhibit received an Open Society Documentary Photography Project Grant and is currently part of a moving exhibit.
