Mindy graduated Cum laude, Class of 2013 from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance. She received the University of South Carolina Dance Program Director Award for outstanding dedication, talent and passion for the art of dance given by Professor Susan Anderson and the faculty of the dance program. As a student, Mindy performed in George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes, Mozartiana, Raymonda, Allegro Brillante, Western Symphony, Walpurgisnacht, Who Cares? La Source, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet and Serenade. She performed in original works choreographed by Tanya Wideman-Davis such as Stout Breakdown and Back Door Parole, along with choreography by Thaddeus Davis, If at First We Dream and Let the Fools Stand in Line. She had the opportunity to work with guest artist Hannah Lagerway in Theresa, Lynne Taylor-Corbett’s Great Galloping Gottschalk, Nathan Trice’s Gold Dusk and Giani Di Marco’s Bella Folia. Before her college experience, Mindy performed professionally with Carolina Ballet Theatre under the Artistic Direction of Hernan Justo in Greenville, South Carolina. Mindy performed as a soloist in The Nutcracker as “Snow Queen,” The Sleeping Beauty as “Lilac Fairy,” Carmen Suite as “Fate,” La Bayadere, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Amaranth Seasons, Just About, and Dreams. Melinda was invited to perform as a guest artist several times for the Springfield Ballet Company in Illinois. In addition to her role as a company member, Mindy was an advanced teaching artist with the SmartARTS educational program established by the Metropolitan Arts Council, MAC, in Greenville, SC.

Mindy is currently teaching Ballet Technique 1, open to majors and non-majors, at The University of South Carolina Theatre and Dance Program. She is coming up on her fourth season as dance instructor and choreographer for the University of South Carolina Dance Conservatory under the direction of Professor Susan Anderson and Stacey Calvert. Mindy also has the pleasure of teaching dance and being a part of the wonderful community at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School.
