Daily Geography
The daily geography questions were developed as an activity to help South Carolina students become more knowledgeable about our state’s geography. These questions have been aligned with the 2011 South Carolina Social Studies Academic Standards and Literacy Skills for the 21st Century. Your feedback is welcome: monti@sc.edu.
Weeks One - Five: Click Here
These questions focus on general map skills, the Five Themes of Geography, and general place locations. These skills follow the SC Social Studies Literacy Skills.
Weeks Six - Sixteen: Click Here
These questions focus on Standard 3.1: The student will demonstrate an understanding of places and regions in South Carolina and the role of human systems in the state.
Weeks Seventeen - Twenty-Three: Click Here
These questions focus on Standard 3.2: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the exploration and settlement of South Carolina.
Strategies for using Daily Geography in the classroom:
- Morning work each day such as daily math, daily oral language, etc.
- Research assignment each Monday - due on Friday for daily grade
- Cooperative learning activity during social studies each week
- Homework
