Around the campfire, before bedtime, from the pulpit…The oral tradition is far from dead in American culture. Although much if not most of our country's history has been preserved through the written word, the place of the storyteller has yet to be forgotten. In Georgetown, South Carolina, a town with a rich legacy of folklore, a group of students from the University of South Carolina studied local folklorists and their craft, eventually producing the documentary Tales of Winyah.
